Delving into the world of natural dying was a big excitement! We had the basic understanding that fruit and veggies could stain clothes, however, we didn’t realise to what extent or if we could even make it happen on such a large scale... we were right to keep experimenting.

Before settling on natural dyes we tried a few different methods of dying and printing. We realised all the processes and materials we were using weren’t very sustainable! That’s what pushed us to where we are now!

Dying with natural products can be strange. You’d struggle to guess what we use to get some of our colours! Before we reveal some trade secrets what would food would you think made pink dye? If you’re not into pink, what about yellow?
So let’s see if you got it right shall we? For our lush coral pinks, we use recycled avocados skins that we source from a local sushi and bento joint. Was that what you expected? Cause we sure didn’t! For our yellow T-shirt’s something a bit more obvious, turmeric.

When our tees are dyed and dried it’s time for the print! All of our inks are water based so they don’t include any of the harsh chemicals you might find in others such as acrylic, making them much better for the environment. Our screens are even second hand too! We want to make sure we do all we can to reduce waste, reuse what we can and recycle what we can’t.

Hopefully this has showed you a little bit of what we do? Make sure you watch out for our upcoming blogs for more of an insight into our methods... and much more!
